Meet Our Rochester Dentists


Michael Sawyer, DDS

Dr. Michael Sawyer has been practicing dentistry in the Rochester area for nearly 30 years. He is well-established in the community and known for his gentle, caring personality. 

Dr. Sawyer opened Circle Drive Dental in 2006. He strives to create an environment that is warm and welcoming. He understands people can have anxiety about visiting the dentist and wants to put their minds at ease. He conveys the importance of regular dental care without pressure or a lecture.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Sawyer is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Zumbro Valley Dental Society. He has also taught classes at Rochester Community and Technical College.

A Minnesota native, Dr. Sawyer is passionate about family and golf. He has played courses across the country and in Scotland. He spends his free time with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, Colin and Morgan. They enjoy movies, backyard bonfires, and being involved in their church. Fun fact: Dr. Sawyer prides himself on trying new pizza places. Ask him about his favorites!

Eric Steele, DDS

Dr. Eric Steele prides himself in providing high-quality dental care to families. He is dedicated to listening to the patient’s needs, educating, and building longstanding patient relationships. A gentle and caring personality combined with continuing education and using the newest products allows Dr. Steele to provide the individualized care that's deserved by every patient.

Dr. Steele was raised in Grand Forks, ND, where he graduated high school, and in 2006, graduated from the University of North Dakota. From there, Dr. Steele chose the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and graduated in 2010 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He returned to Grand Forks and provided dental care in private practice for three years before deciding to call Rochester home.

In his spare time, Dr. Steele enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and three children, Mackenzie, Nolan, and Evan. Dr. Steele's other hobbies include staying involved with several church activities, reading, going to the movies, traveling, watching sports, playing softball, volleyball, and golfing.

Joseph Beatty, DDS

Dr. Joseph Beatty joined Circle Drive Dental in 2023. He has practiced dentistry for over 9 years, and his diverse dental background includes experience with placing dental implants, providing root canal treatment, working with Spanish-speaking patients, and more. He believes in a kind and caring approach to dentistry.


A graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago: College of Dentistry, Dr. Beatty is also a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and various local study clubs. Dr. Beatty served as past president for Zumbro Valley Dental Society; member for Good Samaritan Dental Clinic advisory board; and supervising dentist at Rochester Community and Technical College: Dental Hygiene Program.


Dr. Beatty is a Rochester, MN, native, and graduated from Lourdes High School. He later obtained majors in Biology and Art at Luther College in Decorah, IA. Outside of the office, Dr. Beatty enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, and his three children, Ryan, Hannah, and Clara. They stay active in their church community, and, when their busy schedule allows, they love going to the lake!

Community


November 2021: We collected Halloween candy as part of Operation Gratitude's Halloween Candy Giveback Program. We hand delivered bags of candy to local first responders to show our gratitude for the many ways they serve our community.

August 2021: We shopped for and donated back to school clothes for the children at Jeremiah Program in Rochester. We were honored to partner with such a wonderful organization. Their mission is to help end poverty, two generations at a time. 

May 2021: We held a raffle and donated all of the proceeds to MN Adult and Teen Challenge. A $1,000 check was hand delivered to the director of MNTC on behalf of CDD because of the generosity of people who bought raffle tickets. 

December 2020: We collected toys for Toys for Tots. Thank you to all who donated toys!
